Well I did retire, July 1st 2014.  Official date!   When it was time for school to start in August I was a bit sad.  I went to the school the first day to take lunch to my friend, Dana, and when I left I felt good about what I had done.  Marion and I have been very busy taking care of our gardens and canning.  We have been able to travel to do things with our children and grandchildren.  We have a new grandson, Jack Reed Thellmann, born on July 28th.  I was able to stay in Gilbert for a few days with Melissa, Cory, and Jack.  Then we headed up to Bear Lake in Idaho/Utah.  There we were with Brad, Randy, and Scott and their families.  We actually stayed at Kent Vaughns cabin.  The neat thing about this is that in 1976 Marion helped to built the cabin.  We went to see Gary and Sylvia and Joel and Cindy while we were in Idaho. On the way home we attended the Ogden Temple open house.  In September I spent 12 days in Sandy, Utah watching Asher and Sara while Randy and Kristin went on a Mediteranean Cruise.  Marion was able to join me for some of the days.  It was so much fun and the kids were so good.   We had a great time.  We went to Idaho to Brad and Katies for the last few days and Asher loved seeing his cousins.    Then we went to Arizona for Jack's blessing.  We were able to see the movie,  Meet the Mormons,  and also attend the Phoenix Temple open house.  So you see our lives have been very busy and we have had some great experiences.  And this is only the beginning!

Sunday, March 9, 2014

It is already March 9th of 2014.  We have had a great year.  It is going so fast.  We spent Melissa's 25th Birthday with her in Arizona where we attended the open house for the Gilbert Temple.  It is a beautiful temple.  We were lucky to be able to go.  Christmas was just the two of us and it was somewhat lonely but we were both sick most of the time.  We are busy getting spring things ready.  Marion has spent some time with the missionaries.  It has been good for all of them.  I'm actually going to retire.  At least this month anyway.

Well today was our little girl's 24th birthday.  Hard to believe it has been that long.  I had just gone back to teaching when I had her and have  taught ever since.  27 years!!  Happy birthday Melissa.  Love you and the woman you have become.

Busy June Weekend

We are getting ready to go to Gilbert to the open house at Cory's parents.  We had a great weekend last week.  Saturday morning we got up at 4 am and started our weekend adventure.  We went to the Alb. Temple to do Baptisms with the youth.  Sister Armer had a flat tire so we took Anna and Hank Costner with us.  After the session we went to Papa Felipe and had a great buy one get one free dinner. Then we got on  I-40 and drove to Joseph City,  Arizona.  Cory was raised there so there was a reception at his   grandparents,  Brother and Sister Miller.  It was great.  They have a lot of family in that area.  Marion and I left at about 7:45 and headed out to SLC,  Utah.  We had a great night drive and arrived in SLC about 6:30 in the morning.  We attended church with Randy and Kristin where Randy was put in as second counselor in the Bishopric.  Marion was able to ordain him as a High Priest, and then he was set apart by the Stake President.  What wonderful blessings were given!   We got to see Brad-he flew in from Maine. A business trip. We stayed and relaxed on Monday and came home on Tuesday.  It was a great weekend!  Off we go again!!

Thursday, June 14, 2012

Well it is now June 14th.  A busy day!  It is Flag Day.  It is Grandpa and Grandma Wells' 74th wedding anniversary.  Melissa and Cory have been married for 2 weeks.  The reception in Kirtland is over and on to more activities in June.  It was a beautiful day in Manti.  Melissa looked beautiful and of course Cory was handsome.  This has been a hard thing for me--to see my little girl married and on to a life of her own.  Where has the time gone..  That means that I'm a bit older than I think.

Moved on in life

Well when did she grow up! Melissa turned 23 on the 1st of February 2012. She has found a good job, a lot of great friends and a Man -child that has stolen her heart. So happy for her and Cory. They are now engaged and will be married on June 1st. Just one more big step in our little girls life. ( or should I say she has moved on to bigger andd better things). The week end of President's Day Mom and Dad went to the big city to have a good weekend of visiting and start the Mom and Dad plans for the upcoming event. Lets just say it was a great weekend and just want to wish Cory and Melissa the best.

I Actually Found It!!

Well I just kept looking until I found it in the Draft section and published it. I did it Melissa. But as you see there are not any pictures. It just takes me some true concentration and I guess I can overcome my fears. Love to you all. Call or come see us.

well I blew it.

Well I just spent about an hour getting a blog to publish and I published it and found I had made 4 spelling errors in it so I figured out hour to edit the blog and then hit the wrong key and lost it all. See why I say I am Tech challenged!!!!!

A few Days in the life of Mom and Dad

No pictures because I'm so Tech challenged! But we have had some great days since the daisy post. We are enjoying our days. Marion has been so busy with his calling as Bishop-- and we have been so very blessed. All the kids have come to see us and we have been to see most of them. We have been to funerals and weddings. We have been to Canada, Mt. Rushmore, Washington, Arizona , Oregon, Idaho, Utah, Montana, and of course New Mexico. We have played with Grandchildren at Halloween, the 24th of July, the 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. We watched our baby graduate from BYU. We now have 12 beautiful grandchildren(7 girls and 5 boys). We have certainly been blessed beyond words. On July 27th while in Albuquerque, New Mexico just after attending a temple session and then a temple wedding of a young girl from our ward, Marion suffered a stroke. Because we were in Albuquerque he was rushed to the UNM Hospital and we as a family chose for him to get the stroke shot--His paralzes and muffled speech were gone within 5-6 hours and with all the prayers of our family, ward, and Stake he left the hopital in 2 days and was at Sacrament Meeting on Sunday to hear one of our Missionaries speak before leaving on his mission. Marion and I still have good jobs in the school district. This is my 30th year of teaching --26 in CCSD. Marion is the parts manager and only had to take off about 10 days after his stroke. Life is good here in Kirtland and we hope 2012 wil continue to be a great year. Yesterday we went to St.Johns to a funeral and meet up with Melissa and her great friend, Cory. So fun to spend some time with them. Now I must see if I can get this blog to Publish......herrrrrrregooooes.....

The Daisy Patch

Daisies make me feel good!
This one is for you, Heidi. This year was a good year once again for the Daisy patch. We trans planted a few that had grown from seed in the mini rose garden. They all grew and filled so nicely. I love Daisies. They make me happy!

Family Reunion 2010 in Durango,Colorado

This year Scott and Lindsay were in charge of the family reunion. We met in Durango, Colorado at the KOA campground. The kids loved the swimming pool and all spent a great deal of time there. We all looked at and sorted family pictures and actually was able to get a few scanned into the computer. All the Kids came and we had a great time together. Just a few pictures of grandkids, fixing breakfast, and a fun ride around the campground. So glad Rebecca made it- Scott and Lindsay too. On Saturday, June 12, we all went to Mesa Verde. Then home to Kirtland to spend a night together. We had a great time and it is fun to be together. Love to you all, and thanks for coming.

Women's Conference at BYU

The end of April I took off a couple of days and went to Provo to spent a great weekend with my girls, (all but Lindsay, who couldn't make it from Canada because of the temple dedication). We had a great time. Our stay at the Laws was so fun. Then it was off to SLC to spend some time at Randy and Kristins. Randy and Asher and a friend actually went to NM to be at Grandpa Wells'.
This picture of me and my daughters was taken at the Marriot Center at the closing get together. It was fun to be together and share great talks, food, and friends.

Our Daughter Turns 21

Today is a special day for our youngest daughter. She turned 21. Where did those years go. So many great days and activities. But Melissa had to grow up and leave home and do her own things. Happy Birthday to you our darling daughter. Hope you had a great day! Love Mom and Dad

Saturday, January 2, 2010

This is our darling little Alyssa. We were able to go to Idaho during the Christmas break and see Brad and Katie and their little family. Such a cutie. Brad and Katie were able to bless her at their home while we were there. It was wonderful to be able to be there for the occasion.

Over General Conference weekend, Randy and Kristin came to see us and this is what happened while they were here.

As you can see this is the results of a great big limb coming down in our front yard.
